Coordination Meeting Discusses Readiness for Development of Indonesian IKN in East Kalimantan Province between Regional Government Apparatus. East Kalimantan together with the Deputy for National Defense Coordination, Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs and other stakeholders
The Team of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia led by the Deputy Coordinator for National Defense of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Major General TNI Hilman Hadi, S.I.P., M.B.A., M.Han. conducted a working visit to East Kalimantan Province in order to hold a coordination meeting to discuss readiness for the development of Indonesian IKN in East Kalimantan Province, Tuesday (12/04/2022).

This coordination meeting is intended to collect data and intelligence information regarding potential threats related to national defense towards the IKN Nusantara development plan in the East Kalimantan Province region. This data and information will serve as input and consideration for the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs to determine national defense policies in order to coordinate, synchronize and control policies with Ministries/Institutions related to preparing aspects of national defense in supporting the development of the Indonesian IKN.

The coordination meeting which was held at the East Kalimantan Governor's Office and attended by ± 52 participants consisting of Regional Apparatus in the East Kalimantan Province and District/City Environment and related stakeholders was chaired by the Head of the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda , Prof. Dr. H.M. Aswin, MM, representing the Governor of East Kalimantan.

“The East Kalimantan Provincial Government has integrated the Plan to Move the National Capital in the 2019-2023 RPJMD Amendments. "As a follow-up to this integration, the theme of the Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD) for East Kalimantan in 2022 is Structural Reform and Strengthening Regional Competitiveness in the Context of Welcoming IKN," said the Head of the East Kalimantan Bappeda.

It was further stated that currently East Kalimantan is also carrying out a Revision of the Regional Spatial Planning (RTRW) which includes accommodating the IKN plan and integrating the RTRW with the Zoning Plan for Coastal Areas and Small Islands (RZWP3K). In this RTRWP revision, changes to the Forest Area covering an area of 570,183 ha are proposed, including proposed changes to designation, proposed changes to function and proposed new designations. The East Kalimantan Provincial Government hopes for support from the Central Government, so that the revision of the East Kalimantan RTRWP can be completed quickly and is able to accommodate the IKN Relocation plan well.

At the coordination meeting, Plt. Regent of North Penajam Paser (PPU), Mr. H. Ir. Hamdam and district government elements. Kukar who explained the development and spatial planning problems of PPU Regency and Kukar as a buffer area for the Capital City in supporting the smooth development of the Indonesian IKN.

Apart from that, elements from the Ministry of ATR/BPN Regional Office of East Kalimantan Province and elements of Regional Apparatus in the Environment of East Kalimantan Province (PUPR PERA Service and Kesbangpol East Kalimantan) were also present at the coordination meeting.
