The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) project technical team meeting in the Sustainable Environmental Governance Across Regions (fresh) project

Jakarta (11/13/2023), East Kalimantan Province Bappeda through the Head of PSDA, Mr. Wahyu Gatut Purboyo accompanied (Bappenas) through the Sustainable Environmental Governance Across Regions (Fresh) project at the Westin Hotel Jakarta.

This project is a five-year long-term project (2021-2026) which this year has entered the third year. In this case, USAID fresh works to support the purpose of Indonesia's development in balancing biodiversity conservation and sustainable land use with economic development and inclusive livelihoods. The location of the Fresh USAID activities in East Kalimantan Province itself is located in Berau, East Kutai and Mahakam Ulu Regency with potential commodities namely, palm oil, rubber, wood, cocoa, pulp and paper.

The holding of this meeting aims to discuss the achievement of fresh USAID project activities in the second year, delivering the draft Annual Workplan (AWP) of the Fresh USAID project in the third year, discussions on the technical technical of the Fresh USAID project in the third year and agreeing on the project of fresh usaid activities in the third year.

Meanwhile, work plans in the 3rd year of fresh USAID include, an increase in focus on the environment and conservation of provincial and district planning, strengthening important landscapes for biodiversity conservation, strengthening the elements of work in sustainable district, increasing private sector collaboration, to strengthening self-help farmers.

In the technical team meeting the meeting concluded including:
1. Some proposed activities have not yet appeared in the co-creation process so that they are not listed in the 3rd year AWP can be integrated with activities that already exist in the AWP
2. The schedule for the implementation of activities to be adjusted to the schedule of activities carried out by the Regional Government, so that the activities of the USAID fresh can strengthen the programs/activities carried out by the Regional Government 3. Exit Strategy Project needs to be prepared for the sustainability of activities
4. Indicators that have not been achieved need to be measured immediately
5. AWP Year 3 AWP USAID Fresh can be approved at the Technical Team Meeting

It is hoped that this project can achieve the goals of sustainable environmental development in Indonesia in advancing biodiversity conservation, sustainable forest and land management to reduce the threat of greenhouse gas emissions.
