The Deputy Governor of East Kalimantan, Mr. Hadi Mulyadi, during his working visit to the southern region (7 to 9 June 2022) visited the residents of the "Muluy" customary law community (MHA) in Swan Slutung Village, Muara Komam District, Paser Regency. The “Muluy” traditional law community recently became one of the recipients of 10 National Kalpataru awards in 2022. This is certainly a matter of pride for the Paser Regency Government and the East Kalimantan Provincial Government. Please note that Kalpataru is an award given to individuals or groups for their services in preserving the environment in Indonesia.

The delivery of the Kalpataru award from the Central Government to the "Muluy" traditional law community is planned to be handed over in the second week of June. Mr. Jidan as the Muluy tribal/traditional head plans to receive the award directly in Jakarta. The determination of the 10 Kalpataru award recipients is based on the Decree of the Minister of Environment and Forestry Number SK.533/MENLHK/PSKL/PSL.3/5/2022. MHA "Muluy" is the first MHA in East Kalimantan to receive this award. It is hoped that in the future it can be a motivation for all residents and other community groups to be more active in preserving the environment and forestry in East Kalimantan.

The Deputy Governor of East Kalimantan, Hadi Mulyadi, said in his speech that it was a joy and an honor to be able to arrive at the hamlet of "Muluy" which in the near future will receive the Kalpataru award from the President. He expressed his thanks to the entire community and especially to Mr. Jidan (Chief of the Muluy Tribe) who has been active in protecting the environment and surrounding forests. He also said that it was difficult to get to "Muluy" Hamlet, he had fallen while riding a dirt bike but that did not break his enthusiasm to continue meeting the residents of "Muluy" Hamlet. Then Mr. Hadi also conveyed and asked the East Kalimantan PUPR Service who was part of the group to coordinate with the team so that "Muluy" Hamlet becomes a location that receives a livable housing program.

During this visit to the "Muluy" MHA, the Customary Forest Decree and a certificate of appreciation for forest managers were also handed over to the "Muluy" customary law community from the Provincial Government; certificate of appreciation to the Indonesian Rice Association Foundation; as well as handing over assistance in the form of religious equipment; suitable clothing; basic necessities; corn seeds and planting tools; 1,574 fruit and tree seeds endemic to East Kalimantan; 200 early maturing palm tree seeds; Communal PLTS DED; as well as aid funds from Baznas Kaltim of approximately 100 million.

Meanwhile, Mr. Asfiandi Zulfiar, ST, M.URP (functional official in the Government and Human Development sector of the East Kalimantan Bappeda) who was part of the group gave notes in connection with the working visit of the Deputy Governor of East Kalimantan to "Muluy" Hamlet, among other things, emphasizing the need for our joint attention to the condition of road access and the condition of the availability of telecommunications facilities which are still not optimal. This of course requires good cooperation between the Provincial and Regional Governments and the role of the private sector.
