Webinar with the theme of Smart City and Sustainable Transportation
Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province through the field of infrastructure and region to attend online webinar webinar with the theme "Smart City and Sustainable Transportation: Challenges and Implementation in Indonesia" organized by the Center for Transportation and Logistics Studies (Pustral)

The event opened by the Head of the Center for Transportation and Logistics Studies (Pustral) of Gadjah Mada University, Ir. Ikaputra, M.Eng., Ph.D was attended by around 257 participants consisting of elements of the ministry, transportation operators, brin, local government, academic community, associations, NGOs, and mass media.

UGM Pustral Expert Team who is also a Professor of Architecture and Planning Engineering UGM, Prof. Ir. Achmad Djunaedi, Murp., Ph.D in his presentation as a guest speaker explained about the concept of Smart City and Sustainable Transportation and its challenges and implementation in Indonesia.

In terms of concepts, Smart City (Smart City) is a city that adopts solutions that utilize information and communication technology (ICT) to increase efficiency, reduce costs, which improve the quality of life and increase the involvement of citizens, physical infrastructure, and digital technology so as to make cities more livable, tough, and better captured challenges.

Further, continuous transportation is a means of any transportation that has a low impact on the environment (including walking and cycling), as well as to move people, goods, and information in ways that reduce the impact on the environment, economy, and community.

For that, in an effort to synergize sustainable tans that apply smart cities, there are 4 things that can be done, including:
1. Smart Street: Smart Street is done using various sensors to make vehicles safer and more environmentally friendly;
2. Smart Vehicles: Smart Vehicles is a real-time device that is empowered with computing and correspondence capabilities to be able to collaborate with each other;
3. Smart Parking: Smart Parking manages the Park Mandiri framework to help the driver choose a parker place; and
4. Smart Mobility: Smart Mobility manages human and urban goods movements by integrating them.

In addition, there are several challenges in implementing the implementation of Smart City and Sustainable Transportation in Indonesia, among others, related to leadership and policy (concepts and understanding), funding, availability of technology, HR support, and regional innovation management.

Through the implementation of webinars and discussions carried out, it is expected that all policy makers understand how to implement Smart City and Sustainable Transportation and challenges to be faced, especially in Indonesia.
