East Kalimantan Bappeda Encourages Strengthening Regional Geospatial Information Networks (JIGD) Through the 2025 JIGD Coordination Meeting in Paser Regency

The Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) of East Kalimantan Province held a Regional Geospatial Information Network Coordination Meeting (Rakor JIGD) for Regencies/Cities throughout East Kalimantan in 2025 at Lou Bapekat Hall, Tana Paser. The coordination meeting was officially opened by the Regent of Paser who was represented by the Regent's Expert Staff for Economic Affairs, Hj. Ina Rosana, S.Pi., M.M.. "I feel honored and proud that the East Kalimantan Geospatial Information Network Coordination Meeting can be held on the Daya Taka land of Paser Regency. This is proof of the synergy of support from East Kalimantan Province in realizing the vision of Paser Regency, namely Paser Tuntas (Resilient, Superior, Transformative, Fair and Prosperous)," said Hj. Ina Rosana in the Regent's speech which she read.

Then the event was continued with a keynote speech by the Regional Secretary of East Kalimantan Province which was delivered by the Head of the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda, Yusliando. In his keynote speech, the Regional Secretary expressed his highest thanks and appreciation to the Geospatial Information Agency as the data supervisor at the central level who continues to oversee and provide assistance to the implementation of One Map in the regions. "We hope that BIG can continue to provide direction and support to East Kalimantan, not only at the provincial level but also at the district/city level."

The next keynote speech was delivered by the Deputy for Geospatial Information Infrastructure, BIG, dr. Ibn Sofian. "BIG has proposed the appointment of Bappeda as Regional Level Geospatial Data Supervisor which carries out the function of managing network nodes as well as planning data collection. This proposal was submitted at the SDI Steering Committee Meeting in the framework of the issuance of the SEB MENPPN/Bappenas, Minister of Home Affairs, and BIG some time ago. So that regional governments no longer need to be confused in determining who will be the Geospatial Data Supervisor," said Dr. Ibnu Sofian ended his keynote speech.

The event continued with the signing of the Minutes of Coordination Meeting which contained the agreement of 10 Regencies/Cities in developing JIGD in their respective regions as well as the signing of the Cooperation Agreement for the Implementation of Geospatial Information with the Development Center Mulawarman University Geospatial Information Infrastructure. Currently there are 3 Regencies/Cities that have Cooperation Agreements, namely Berau Regency, Kutai Kartanegara Regency and Bontang City. At today's Coordination Meeting, 3 additional Cooperation Agreements were signed, namely East Kalimantan Province, Paser Regency and Samarinda City. Meanwhile, other districts/cities are still in process.

The afternoon event continued with a panel session moderated by the Head of P2EPD Bappeda, East Kalimantan Province, Alfino Rinaldi Arief, who presented 3 speakers, namely:

· Mr Abdurasyid, Director of Geospatial Information Standards and Technology, BIG who will present material with the theme “Improving the Quality of Geospatial Information through Data Standardization”;

· Mr Nazarudin, representing the Head of the East Kalimantan Province Diskominfo who will present material with theme "Creating One Data for East Kalimantan through Geoportal Integration of JIGD Kaltim"; and

· Mr Yohanes Budi Sulistioadi, Chair of the Geospatial Information Infrastructure Development Center at Mulawarman University who will present material with the theme "Utilization of Geospatial Data and Information Analysis Results for Agricultural Sector Development".

The JIGD Coordination Meeting series will take place for 3 days from 22 – 24 October 2025 with the following events:

· The first day of the Coordination Meeting main event continued in the afternoon with technical guidance on data standardization for East Kalimantan Province Regional Apparatus;

· Day second, on 23 October 2025, technical guidance on data standardization was carried out for Regency/City Regional Apparatus;

· On the third day, 24 October 2025, technical guidance on institutions and policies for implementing Regency/City JIGD was carried out;


With synergy and collaboration, it is hoped that East Kalimantan can realize quality geospatial information as a foundation for development towards the Golden Generation 2045.
