Public Discussion Supported Rued by the Regional Government of East Kalimantan to achieve an energy transition target
Bappeda Prov. East Kalimantan was represented by the Head of Economics and Natural Resources, Mr. Gatut Wahyu Purboyo, attended a public discussion of the Regional Energy General Plan (RUED) at the Swissbell Hotel Meeting Room.

This discussion was held by the Secretariat General of the National Energy Council in collaboration with the Ministry of PPN/ Bappenas, Giz Lndonesia, and IESR through the case program with the theme "Support Rued by the Kalimantan Regional Government to achieve the transition target Energy "as a form of commitment of local governments in achieving net zero emissions in 2060.

However, on the other hand, energy transitions can also affect the regional economy differently, especially in terms of loss of work and local livelihoods in the regions, if done without strategic and comprehensive planning or governance.

This discussion is expected to produce clean energy policy recommendations, which are more effective in promoting clean and renewable energy. and support investment and use of renewable energy sources.

It is expected that the energy transition strategy that can help coal-producing regions in adapting to energy transitions and find alternative sources of reliability. This strategy can include the development of new kerian fields in the clean and related energy sector, as well as training and skills development programs for workers who are negatively affected by energy transitions.
