FGD Study of Ecology-Based Fiscal Transfers
East Kalimantan Province's Readiness Towards Implementing Ecologically Based Fiscal Transfers Through Result Based Payments

In connection with the readiness of Kalimantan Timur received REDD+ performance payments from the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF), so the Center for Social, Economic, Policy and Climate Change Research and Development (P3SEKPI) held an FGD via video conference with the topic East Kalimantan Province's Readiness Towards Implementing Ecologically Based Fiscal Transfers Through Result Based Payment.
Representing the Head of Bappeda, East Kalimantan Province, Head of Natural Resources and Environment Subdivision, Hj. Rina Juliaty, S.Si, M.Si was present as a resource person on the topic of Ecology-Based Fiscal Transfer policy in East Kalimantan Province.
This activity was also attended by the Directorate of PJLHK, Center for Research and Development of Dipterocarpa, BPKAD, Bureau of Economics, Forestry, Kutai National Park Office.
This discussion aims to obtain input regarding the management of FCPF Result Based Payment funds and East Kalimantan Province Revenue from Regional Financial Transfers for the management of Forest and Environmental Resources, then input regarding the East Kalimantan Provincial Government Policy in supporting the Ecologically Based Fiscal Transfer Initiative, as well as input regarding the readiness of the East Kalimantan Province's Institutional Infrastructure in the Ecology-Based Fiscal Transfer mechanism through RBP.
Intensive discussions with the implementation of FCPF CF-WB in East Kalimantan are a step to understand in more detail the procedures, procedures, policy instruments and other relevant work tools.
It is hoped that the results of this discussion will become important material in preparing concepts and practical recommendations for developing RBP schemes to support sustainable forest management performance before and after Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) 2030. (Bapp/hum/fat)
