East Kalimantan Province Bappeda was nominated for the Phase II Regional Development Assessment (PPD) at the provincial level in 2024

Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province was nominated for Phase II Regional Development Assessment (PPD) at the provincial level in 2024 which was held by the Ministry of Bappenas/VAT on Wednesday (03/13/2024).

This Phase II PPD agenda was held in the form of FGD and interviews and presentations by the Head of East Kalimantan Bappeda.

The event took place at the Mercure Hotel Samarinda by inviting various stakeholders both government and non-government and academics.

In a presentation by the Head of East Kalimantan Province Bappeda, Yusliando delivered several points including, evaluating the achievements of the Main Performance Indicators (IKU) 2022-2023 had several improvements or showed in a more positive direction in several sectors namely, human development index, poverty level, rate of economic growth, open unemployment, open unemployment levels, lpewood indicators, non-mignery lpes. Gini Index, Environmental Quality Index and Bureaucratic Reform Index.

Furthermore, some regional development achievements in East Kalimantan were delivered by the Head of Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province, Yusliando explained that there were 6 achievements that showed the achievements of East Kalimantan in the field of regional development including, the achievement of extreme poverty, the development of development in the field of stunting handling, the number of recipients of the East Kalimantan scholarship that increased in each one from 2020 to 2020. Agricultural Development (Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, Plantation) in East Kalimantan, Handling of Livable Houses for Low -Income Communities in East Kalimantan and the Achievement of East Kalimantan Tourism Development (Pela Village).

Meanwhile, the most highlighted regional development achievements in its implementation are the handling of extreme poverty where in 2022 there were 1.55% or 59,780 inhabitants of extreme poor people. Then the figure decreased dramatically in 2023 with a percentage of 0.10% or 3,190 people.

as many as 8 development priorities in East Kalimantan Province in 2024 revealed by Yusliando as the Head of Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province, namely, increasing the competitiveness of human resources that encourage the absorption of labor, increasing the degree of public health by optimizing hospital services and other health service facilities, strengthening efforts to transform economic and horizontal infrastructure, extreme poverty alleviation, environmental quality improvement, improved and accountable regional government governance to support the transformation of public services, increase regional readiness as an IKN partner by optimizing cooperation.

As information, this stage II assessment aims to obtain information and confirmation from planning stakeholders (Bappeda/OPD) and non-governmental stakeholders related to the achievement of development, quality and process of preparing planning documents, and regional innovation.

The results of this phase II in addition to being used as an assessment component, can also be used as an evaluation for provinces, districts and cities.

Further, Regional Development Award (PPD) is an appreciation of the Ministry of Bappenas/VAT for local governments in producing quality, efficient, and plans to achieve its targets and the creativity of regional innovations.

The process of regional framework basically requires transparency, participation, and collaboration as the main key in strengthening the foundation of development.

Therefore, together, the local government is committed to realizing a better life for all citizens of the Province of East Kalimantan.
