Exposure to Seminar on Research Results on the Accessibility of National Roads on Development in the Kalimantan Region
Samarinda, (12/10/2023). Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province through the Infrastructure and Regional Sector, Mr. Fryma Putra Pratama attended a Seminar Expose on Research Results on the Accessibility of National Roads on Development in the Kalimantan Region at the Puri Senyiur Hotel, Samarinda.
The event was opened by the Secretary for Research and Innovation (BRIDA) of East Kalimantan Province, Mrs. Charmarijaty and continued with the presentation of research results from the presenter Mr. Muhammad Hadid as professor of civil engineering, Kalimantan Institute of Technology and discussed by two speakers, Mr. Purnyoto as Head of Road Infrastructure Development Integration, Directorate General of Highways, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing and Mr. Hariadi Purwatmoko as Head of Highways Division, Public Works Department of Spatial Planning and Public Housing.
For your information, this presentation seminar discusses the results of the research team (BRIDA) in researching national road accessibility as a reference in developing access roads leading to the Indonesian Capital City (IKN). Therefore, this research was carried out to increase the accessibility of national roads from IKN or to IKN.
The aim of this research is to identify the condition of national roads connecting the regional provinces of Kalimantan and to carry out an inventory of national road access to IKN.
The area within the scope of this research study is divided into four, namely route 1 with a length of ±1665.02 Km from IKN and ending at the Pontianak City Limits, route 2 with a length of ±1668.02 KM, route 3 with a length of ±1539.26 KM and route 4 towards the capital city of North Kalimantan Province with a travel route length of ±705.39 KM. (detailed regional information can be seen in the image below).
The results of this research show that the accessibility and connectivity of the national road network in Kalimantan in terms of safety, comfort, cost and travel time generally shows good accessibility, and the level of service of all Trans Kalimantan routes shows stable flow performance.
However, there are several areas or roads, especially urban areas, where there has been a decrease in speed due to the density of traffic vehicles.
The results of this research data are useful as policy recommendations related to improvements in the transportation sector on a priority scale for handling improvements to national roads between provinces in the Kalimantan region. Apart from that, the results of this research can also be used as material for the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda in preparing long-term planning documents which are currently in the process of being prepared.
