Samarinda, (03/28/2023). Head of Economics and Natural Resources Mr. Wahyu Gatut Purboyo attended the FGD "Profile Preparation, Measurement, Reporting and Verification System (MRV) and Strategies for Implementing Blue Carbon Economic Values" as resource persons at the Mercure Hotel Meeting Room.

On this occasion Mr. Wahyu said that there are still challenges in the implementation of the blue carbon program in East Kalimantan in terms of policy there is no integrated goal that is carried together by stakeholders, so it cannot achieve harmony between land and sea spatial plans. Currently in the process of integrating RTRW (the main policy of sea and coastal spatial planning) and RZWP3K.

Furthermore, Mr. Wahyu explained that from the funding side, the government's budgeting was not yet optimal in the success of the Blue Carbon program compared to the budgeting of other fundamental fields and the results could be immediately felt.

In East Kalimantan itself the implementation of the Blue Carbon program with a Zoning Plan for Coastal Areas & Small Islands (RZWP3K) Prov.Kaltim The Blue Carbon program, which is protecting the Hábitat and fish population and the migration of marine biota; establish and develop water conservation areas into the core zone, limited utilization zones, and other zones; developing a network of conservation areas; carry out monitoring and evaluation of the management of conservation areas; and increasing the conservation of the coastal and water environment in the form of the implementation of coastal and water conservation areas consistently.
