East Kalimantan Governor Coordinates Samarinda-Balikpapan Toll Road

Balikpapan, Monday 7/11/2016. Infrastructure projects that directly touch the interests of the people can be is being considered seriously as are road projects toll Samarinda-Balikpapan which is targeted for completion in 2018.

This was stated by the Governor of East Kalimantan, Dr.H. Awang Faroek Ishak during a series of working visits with his entourage to Kodam VI Mulawarman in Balikpapan City who was received directly by Kasdam VI Mulawarman, Brigadier General TNI Santos Gunawan Matondang, S.IP., M.M and Mayor of Balikpapan, H. M. Rizal Effendi, SE together with officials within the Balikpapan City Government.

The Governor of East Kalimantan added to the message from the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo that infrastructure projects that have a direct impact on people's welfare must be taken seriously. Said the Governor of East Kalimantan.

The purpose of the working visit of the Governor of East Kalimantan and his entourage to Kodam VI Mulawarman Balikpapan is in order to coordinate the Samarinda-Balikpapan toll road project which passes through the assets of Kodam VI Mulawarman Balikpapan.

Initiative of the Governor of East Kalimantan, Dr.H. Awang Faroek Ishak in order to accelerate the construction of the toll road received a serious response from Kasdam VI Mulawarman, Brigadier General Santos Gunawan Matondang, S.IP., M.M to support the process of accelerating the construction of the Samarinda – Balikpapan toll road.

In line with the support from Kasdam VI Mulawarman in accelerating the construction of the Samarinda - Balikpapan Toll Road, as well as support from the Mayor of Balikpapan, H. M. Rizal Effendi, SE, that the issue of land acquisition in the Balikpapan City area, especially those passing through the Samarinda-Balikpapan Toll Road, there is still some land that must be re-coordinated persuasively with the local community. There is still some land that has been acquired but there is still one of their families or other parties who claim it so further coordination is needed. If a persuasive approach or a family approach still does not find a solution, we will take legal action. Said the Mayor of Balikpapan who was strengthened by the Assistant for Balikpapan City Government Administration and also present at the event was the Assistant for Economy, Development and People's Welfare.
