In his presentation, Mr. Saur said there was a review of macroeconomic conditions in the District. PPU, as one of the IKN buffer areas, will contribute 1.43% to the economy of East Kalimantan Province in 2022. With the start of development of the North Penajam Paser Regency IKN economy, which was initially dominated by natural resource-based business fields, namely Mining and Quarrying as well as Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, in 2022 the Construction sector will have the largest GRDP contribution, namely 24.11%

As monitored from the analysis of macro regional development performance achievements, it can be seen that East Kalimantan's LPE in 2022 is at 4.48%, growing better than in 2021, namely 2.55% due to improving economic conditions. LPE PPU in 2022 will increase sharply to 14.49%, after contracting by -1.69% in the previous year, this was triggered by the development of the IKN area. The business field with the highest growth contribution is the construction sector at 89.82%
