Speakers in the Public Discussion "Development Transformation Towards an Advanced, Fair and Just East Kalimantan": Achievements, Policy Direction and Challenges in the Strategic Era"

Today (30/1/2024), the Head of the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda, Mr. Yusliando, was the resource person in the Public Discussion: "Development Transformation Towards an Advanced, Fair and Sustainable East Kalimantan" at the Prof. Building. Masjaya Mulawarman University. This discussion is an important forum in the process of preparing the East Kalimantan Province RPJPD document for 2025-2045.

In an effort to create a developed, just and sustainable East Kalimantan, the East Kalimantan Bappeda has taken a technocratic approach in preparing the initial draft of the RPJPD. This public discussion was used as a valuable opportunity to explore strategic issues, ideas and ideas from the academics present at today's meeting.

The RPJPD document prepared by the East Kalimantan Province Bappeda will later become a guide for regional head candidates from the results of the regional elections next February.

For information, the RPJPD contains the vision and mission of regional heads for the next period, policy direction and main long-term development targets for 2025-2045.

Meanwhile, the main focus in regional development transformation lies in three areas, namely social transformation, economic transformation and governance transformation.

In overcoming the issue of social transformation, East Kalimantan plans to build an International Vocational School to increase the competitiveness of provincial human resources. As a concrete effort, this school will produce skilled professionals who can support vocational-based industries in the area. Apart from that, in the area of ​​social transformation, the target of reducing the poverty rate to below 1% is a significant focus.

In the context of economic transformation, facing the energy transition from non-renewable resources made from fossils, East Kalimantan will implement a strategy for developing industrial areas and the creative economy. The aim is to reduce dependence on the mining sector.

Finally, in the transformation of governance, the East Kalimantan Bappeda hopes to create a clean government with integrity. This is a crucial step to create an environment that supports fair and sustainable development.

Thus, these concrete steps become an integral part of East Kalimantan's long-term development plan, marking the government's commitment to achieving equitable and sustainable progress in the future.
