Discussion of the development of the food and beverage industry, the CPO processing industry

In the framework of preparing the economic assessment of the economy and the development of the latest strategic issues, especially related to the food and beverage industry as well as the CPO processing industry, Bank Indonesia held a limited discussion related to this matter through the Zoom Meeting application.
This activity presents speakers from the East Kalimantan Provincial Cooperative and UKM Industry Office and Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province.
The performance of the food and beverage industry in the economic growth of East Kalimantan in 2020 shows the number -3.63, this growth has fallen sharply when compared to 2019 which reached 7.85. When viewed from the contribution of the GRDP of the food and beverage sector to the non -oil and gas industry in 2020 the second largest contribution is the second largest after the chemical, pharmaceutical and traditional medicine industries with a contribution of 43%.
Food and beverage sector included in 5 (five) aspirations of the Indonesian focus sector 4.0 along with textiles and clothing, automotive, chemistry, and electronics called Making Indonesia 4.0. The five aspirations of the sector are long -term steps for the priority sector.
In his presentation, the Head of Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. M. Aswin, MM said when viewed from the economic structure of East Kalimantan according to the Business Sector in the first quarter of 2021 the growing 43.02 % (y on y), while the manufacturing industry was 18.57 %, he explained that overall economic growth in the first quarter of 2021 had decreased by -2.96. The decline was influenced by a decrease in the mining and excavation sectors caused by a decrease in coal and petroleum prices.
Head of Bappeda of East Kalimantan Province explains several policy directions in the changes in the RPJMD in 2019-2023 regarding the oil and gas sector and the processing industry, seen from the third mission of realizing quality economic growth, the target to be achieved is the increase in the value of non -oil and gas exports.
