Review of the National Road - Provincial Road (Kunker Route of the Governor of East Kalimantan Jl. Pahlawan (Tenggarong) - Cross Kalimantan Poros Tengah - Senoni - Kota Bangun - Martadipura Bridge - PT Rea Kaltim)
In the series of implementation of the East Kalimantan Governor's Work Visit Activity to Kutai Kartanegara, starting the agenda of the visit on Monday 6 December 2021, the group took the time to review the condition of the national road and provincial roads on the route that was passed in this Kunker.
Representatives of the Provincial PUPR Office who were also present at the Governor's Working Visit this time said that on the provincial and national road sections there were still damaged road conditions and would be handled in 2022-2023. Funding of provincial roads was budgeted through the Provincial APBD as well as the national road section through the APBN or Center.
Meanwhile, there is still a road status that is in non-status conditions and its determination is still waiting for a decree from the ministry, namely the location of the road that starts from the Martadipura Bridge point.
Head of East Kalimantan Province Bappeda, Prof. Aswin gave a response regarding the handling of the road to the section that was traversed during this Kunker was very necessary to be a priority of the ministry and related agencies. That is because the community really needs good road conditions to support their activities. "The need to increase road capacity to have an impact on the recovery and improvement of the economy of the surrounding community," he said.
In addition, it is important for the Ministry of Public Works to consider road capacity standard which is only 8 tons, while many roads in East Kalimantan are passed by loaded transportation above 8 tons that cause road conditions to be damaged. And for non-status roads, it is expected that the Ministry is pleased to make the status of the road a national road status considering that the section also supports the interests of the central and can reduce the burden of the regional budget.
